Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that Velana International Airport (VIA) will pose as the official host of the prestigious Air Service World Congress 2024. This is the first time the Maldives has been bestowed the privilege of hosting the esteemed global event. The Air Service World Congress 2023 held in Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area from 17-19 July concluded with the successful handover to Velana International Airport.

Next year’s congress is set to take place in July 2024 and will serve as a hub of connectivity in the Indian Ocean, providing a valuable platform to discuss the future direction of global air service development. The upcoming event is also expected to bring together several international representatives from the route development community and VIA is honoured to be the host that facilitates important industry conversations against the stellar backdrop of the Maldives.

During the event, attendees can look forward to engaging industry discussions, insightful one-on-one meetings and a myriad of networking opportunities. These interactions will enable participants to explore avenues of knowledge sharing, foster collaboration and discover innovative solutions for air service development. In addition to these inclusions, MACL will also be showcasing the beautiful islands of the Maldives, offering delegates the unique chance to experience and immerse in the breathtaking natural beauty of the destination.
