On October 29, 2025, The Nautilus Maldives will launch a series of family-friendly sustainability workshops in celebration of World Sustainability Day. The initiative is part of the resort’s partnership with ecoBirdy, a design brand known for its focus on circular design and social responsibility.
Held monthly, the workshops are designed for Young Wonderers and their families. They aim to inspire awareness and creativity through hands-on learning, using storytelling and upcycling to give new life to plastic waste.
Children begin with a guided story, “Journey to a New Life,” which follows the path of discarded toys based on real-world research. The story leads to a beach clean-up, where young participants collect plastic fragments from the island’s shores.
Back at the resort’s activity space, the plastic is sorted and transformed using the Maldives’ first recycling injection machine. The result is a nautilus-shaped pendant with a colourful swirl design, finished with locally sourced Banyan Tree rope.
The workshops offer more than just a fun activity. They encourage families to think about sustainability, value, and transformation. Through this ongoing collaboration, The Nautilus continues to highlight the importance of conscious living showing that even small hands can make a lasting impact.
