Mermaid Psyche Dives into World Oceans Day with Sun Siyam Resorts

In celebration of World Oceans Day 2025, Sun Siyam Resorts welcomed freediver, instructor, and underwater model Psyche Cheng—widely known as Mermaid Psyche—for a special guest appearance at Siyam World and Sun Siyam Olhuveli.

This year’s theme, “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us,” shaped a meaningful programme aimed at raising awareness about the beauty and vulnerability of the ocean. Psyche delivered talks at both resorts, where she shared her journey, her relationship with the ocean, and the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.

Her presence offered a combination of science, storytelling, and mindfulness, drawing attention to ocean advocacy from the perspective of a professional freediver. After her sessions, Psyche joined Sun Diving teams for dives in the surrounding waters—part of a collaborative effort to highlight marine conservation.

The event reflects Sun Siyam Resorts’ broader commitment to sustainability and education, using experiences like these to inspire both staff and international guests.

Sun Diving, the resorts’ dedicated diving arm, continues to offer guided experiences across some of the Maldives’ most well-known dive sites.
