Hard Rock Maldives Unveils Island Curry Burger for Global Burger Tour

Monday 16th of June 2025

Hard Rock Cafe Maldives has joined the global stage with its Island Spiced Coconut & Curry Burger, as part of the annual World Burger Tour, which kicks off today in celebration of Hard Rock International Founders' Day.

Running from June 14 to August 5, the World Burger Tour invites Hard Rock Cafe chefs from around the world to craft unique burger creations inspired by their regional cultures and personal culinary influences. Guests can enjoy these limited-time offerings, which reflect a fusion of local flavor and global flair.

At the Maldives location, Chef Nikhil Gopinathan has created a burger that pays tribute to local spices and tropical ingredients. The Island Spiced Coconut & Curry Burger features two smashed and stacked beef patties, layered with homemade curry mayo, provolone cheese, arugula, coconut flakes, cucumber, tomato, chimichurri cheese sauce, and a topping of fried potato seasoned with island curry powder.

“This is such a fun annual event where our chef gets to flex his creativity, and our guests get to try our new burger inspired by the vibrant culture of the Maldives for a limited time,” said Anna Melissa Olay, Manager at Hard Rock Cafe Maldives.

The 2025 competition also marks a first for Hard Rock with the addition of chef and content creator Olivia Tiedemann as a mentor and judge. Tiedemann supported chefs throughout the contest, offering burger-building guidance and creative feedback.

“Each chef brought such passion and creativity to their recipes,” Tiedemann said. “I’m amazed by how they’ve transformed classic burger concepts with unique local influences.”

Finalists will be selected based on Tiedemann’s input, sales performance, and guest votes on social media. The top five burgers will then be featured globally for a limited time before one is named the ultimate winner.

Launched on June 14, 1971, the first Hard Rock Cafe opened in London. This year’s World Burger Tour celebrates 54 years of the brand's journey as a global hospitality icon with over 300 locations worldwide.
