Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program: Building Tomorrow's Hospitality Leaders

Marriott International Maldives invites aspiring young talents to embark on a transformative journey through its renowned Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program. Following the triumph of its inaugural cohort, the program opens its doors once again to nurture the future leaders of the hospitality industry.
Launched as a pilot project in May 2023 in collaboration with the Maldives Institute of Technology and National Apprenticeship Program (NAP), the Marriott International Maldives Apprenticeship Program is a 10-month immersive experience designed to provide participants with comprehensive training and hands-on exposure. Under the mentorship of industry experts, apprentices will undergo theoretical learning at the Maldives Skill Development Authority (MNSDA) and practical training across Marriott International's portfolio of seven prestigious resorts in the Maldives.
The structured curriculum encompasses a wide array of disciplines, including guest services, culinary arts, housekeeping, and front office operations. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a level-3 National Certificate accredited by the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA), laying a solid foundation for their careers in hospitality.
Mark Fletcher, Area Director of Human Resources, Singapore & Maldives at Marriott International, emphasizes the program's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth. "Our goal is to cultivate the future leaders of hospitality by providing hands-on experience alongside seasoned professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment," he says.
Open to Maldivians aged 16 to 20 years from all backgrounds, the program seeks candidates who exhibit a passion for hospitality, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Applications for the second cohort are now open until May 2, 2024. Recruitment open days will be held across various locations, offering prospective applicants the opportunity to learn more about the program and submit their applications.
