Inspired by the Indian Ocean, the resort beckons guests to explore the island and its extensive waters through unique activities lined up throughout the season. Whether it is visiting the Coralarium or snorkelling the house reef to thrilling water-sport activities, Fairmont is geared up for all!
Initiate the festive season with a traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony on 20th December followed by a gastronomical fest at the resort’s unique collection of restaurants and bars. At Raha Market, indulge in never-ending dining, featuring favourites from around the world while Kata, the Japanese restaurant hosts Asian delicacies. Right on the edge of the seafront is Azure, where guests can savour delectable dishes against the stunning backdrop of the Indian Ocean and Onu Onu offers exotic cocktails and champagne-sipping experiences at its doors.
Eco-conscious activities form the heart of the festive itinerary and guests can connect with the ocean life through the resort’s bespoke Turtle Ranger Programme and guided tours. Or visit the Sustainability Lab, the first-ever in the Maldives where guests will be informed on eco-education and upscaling waste to produce souvenirs. Moreover, guests can even opt to stay at the newly unveiled Beach Tented Villas in a glamping experience like none other!
Making an appearance this year is former Spanish tennis professional, Nicolas Almagro who will offer one-to-one coaching sessions at the resort’s jungle court. Another visiting expert is Reiki Master, Marketa who will guide guests on their wellness journey to sharpen overall mindfulness and health. Apart from this, other time-honoured traditions can be taken up at the Willow Stream spa, curated to enhance relaxation and rejuvenation.
For adventure aficionados, the Big Game Fishing Expert, Ben Jones will be visiting the island resort from 27th December to 3rd January and will host guided excursions to experience the thrill of the Maldivian bounty. He will be leading the pursuit to capture one of the largest and fastest fish species in the Shaviyani Atoll. Furthermore, Michelin Star Chef, Mickael Viljanen will be taking residence at the resort from 29th December to 1st January and will delight epicureans with irrefutable dishes and flavours that will satisfy the most discerning of palates.
On New Year’s Eve, Sirru Fen Fushi will play host to the ‘Ocean Disco’- a night filled with gourmet dining and wines as well as remarkable performances and entertainment. This year, musicians will pay tribute to the iconic tunes of Elton John and Queen of Disco, Donna Summers while Black Rabbit Projects will captivate guests with outstanding cinematic experiences and entertainment. The midnight will be commemorated with a spectacular show of fireworks completed by eclectic beats, live music and a buzzing ambience- channelling the Ocean Odyssey at its best.
