Velana Airport -1 year Without a Managing Director

Maldives Airports Company in Maldives has been operating for a year without a managing director. MACL is one of the biggest government-owned companies in the country and it takes us by surprise that it hasn’t hired a managing director for a year.

Last June, the President’s Office stated that MACL hasn’t hired one due to the changes brought to the company’s operations. President Ibu Solih states that the company brings huge revenue for the government and due to its large size, it cannot be handled by a single person. Former managing director of MACL was Adil Moosa, who provided the service for 26 years and retired after the government changed in 2018.
