Safety Onboard Sri Lankan Airlines Reassured when Flying to Maldives and Beyond

The Sri Lankan Airlines serves 64 destinations in 34 countries, and remains the largest foreign carrier into the Maldives, with at least 38 weekly flights between Male and Colombo. All flights had been temporarily halted for international travel, due to the Covid-19 outbreak in Maldives.

Sri Lankan Airlines is now back to flying, only this time with rigorous health and safety procedures, as the safety and well-being of passengers is their top-most priority. Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, Sri Lankan Airlines has made it mandatory for all passengers who will be flying to wear face masks on entering the airport and for the duration of flight, with immediate effect. Here are some of the procedures that passengers are required to adhere to at Sri Lankan Airlines.

Before Airport Arrival

• Be aware of health and safety procedures at your destination

• Check your temperature before leaving home

• Refrain from travelling if not well

• Follow the health and safety requirements in country of departure

• Mandatory to wear a 3-layered face mask on entry to the airport and for the duration of journey

• Enter airport 3 hours before departure

At the Airport

• Check-in at the counter as self-check-in kiosks are temporarily disabled

• Always maintain physical distance

In-flight

• Adhering to health and safety guidelines, on-board service is now simplified to minimize interaction

• Inform a crew member if any sort of unwellness is felt during the flight

• Follow proper cough etiquette

• Limit movement in cabin

At Destination Airport

• Need to adhere to health and safety requirements in country of arrival

• Maintain required distance when waiting for baggage at the baggage belt
