MMPRC Takes Part in TTF Exhibition in India, In Preparation for Maldives Roadshow

Saturday 2nd of July 2022

In addition to participating in the TTF Travel & Tourism Fair, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is preparing to hold a Maldives Roadshow in India. With 13 industry partners, TTF will be held in Kolkata from July 1–3, 2022. The Maldives Roadshow will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, and Trivandrum on the fifth, seventh, and eighth of that month, respectively.

Maldives participated in the exhibition as a Partner Country. During this event, Visit Maldives, Riu Maldives, and Sun Siyam Iruveli will give a special Destination Presentation to the visitor audience, outlining the amazing vacation opportunities offered by the World's Leading Destination.

The largest exhibition for the travel and tourism sector is held annually in Kolkata under the name TTF Travel & Tourism Fair. It offers organizations from India and abroad the chance to showcase their goods and services once a year. Visitors have access to information and can plan domestic and international travel.

TTF offers exhibitors an unrivaled marketing opportunity to interact directly with the largest gathering of potential travelers and industry professionals. Tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hoteliers, and other stakeholders in the travel and trade industry are included in the visitor profile for TTF.

Following the conclusion of TTF Kolkata, Visit Maldives will host a roadshow with potential operators and agents from India in three Indian cities with the slogan "Connect with Maldives, Your Ultimate Destination Maldives Roadshow in India." Along with 16 industry partners, the roadshow will take place on July 5 in Bangalore, July 7 in Chennai, and July 8 in Trivandrum.

Visit Maldives and industry partners will present a destination presentation at the roadshow that will highlight the services, adventures, and most recent travel advice for the Maldives. After the presentation, there will be a fruitful evening of networking and establishing new business connections, and a special raffle with a free vacation to the Maldives will be held.

Together with industry partners, Visit Maldives hopes to continue promoting the Maldives as the top travel destination in the world during these events. The MMPRC's marketing strategy for the Indian market, which is based on conducting ambient campaigns to strengthen the Maldives' brand in all major cities, identify channels to access the luxury market segment, promote budget-friendly vacation options, and concentrate on specific advertising for honeymooners and family vacations combined with guest house stays, also includes participation in this event.

With over 278,740 travelers and a market share of 22.6 percent in 2021, India was the largest market. As of this point in the year, it is also the largest source market for the Maldives. India was the top source market for tourists to the Maldives as of June 8, 2022, bringing in 104,800 visitors and making up 14.3% of the country's total market share during this time. In an effort to keep the destination visible, MMPRC has several initiatives planned that are specifically aimed at the Indian market.

This includes taking part in significant trade shows like SATTE and OTM, hosting familiarization trips, and running ongoing joint marketing campaigns with well-known partners like Thomas Cook, Pickyourtrail, and Vistara Inflight Magazine.

MMPRC, the organization in charge of promoting the Maldives as a travel destination abroad, engaged in 260 distinct marketing activities in 22 international markets last year, including trade shows, roadshows, familiarization tours, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews.

The Maldives won the title of "World's Leading Destination" at the 2021 World Travel Awards, which are regarded as the gold standard of the travel industry, late last year, which is the greatest testament to the success of these initiatives. The Maldives have successfully attained this prestigious title for the second year in a row, which is a shining example of the confidence that tourists from all over the world have in the "magic of Maldivian hospitality."

The Golden Jubilee celebration of tourism in the Maldives began earlier last year with plans to hold new and exciting activities throughout the year. This year also marks an exceptional year to travel to the Maldives.
