On 22nd July, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts donated a high-end testing processor to the Maldives in order to support the efforts to curb the Covid19 pandemic. The executive board in the destination had a meeting with the Minister of Health Mr. Abdulla Ameen.

The Thermo Scientific™ KingFisher™ Flex Purification System provides highly versatile and reproducible purification of 24 or 96 samples per run. It can be used with a variety of reagents, including Dynabeads products or MagMAX nucleic acid extraction kits, enabling scientists to process samples for a variety of applications.

Testing and surveilling provides crucial information to guide control measures and stop the spread of the pandemic. The same data identifies risk factors and helps plan for future healthcare needs, mentioned Mr Zahir, acting general manager of Angsana Velavaru, one of the three island resorts in the Maldives managed by Banyan Tree.
