Global Wellness Day returns on June 14, 2025, as a worldwide reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with oneself and the world. To mark the occasion, JW Marriott Maldives Resort and Spa is offering guests a complimentary three-day wellness journey from June 14 to 16, led by internationally acclaimed holistic healer Dr Lisa Schuster.
JW Marriott Maldives, located on the natural and tranquil Vagaru Island in the Shaviyani Atoll, provides a peaceful setting for this mindful celebration. Known for its luxury and family-friendly atmosphere, the resort is inviting guests to take part in a carefully designed program focused on inner balance, relaxation, and physical wellness.
Dr Lisa Schuster is a medical doctor, acupuncturist, meditation teacher, and sound and yoga therapist based in Munich. She integrates a variety of holistic practices with a strong emphasis on sound therapy. Her internationally known sound bath meditations use instruments like crystal singing bowls to support deep relaxation and alignment. She is the founder of the Sound Medicine Institute Germany, the creator of AkashaBowls, and a speaker and educator in the field of wellness.
During her time at the resort, Dr Schuster will guide a series of sound bathing sessions in a tropical island setting. Each morning begins with gentle sound therapy and breath work, accompanied by wellness elixirs and nourishing refreshments. In the evenings, Pool 18 becomes the space for reflection and stillness with calming sound bath experiences.
Guests interested in more active wellness can take part in complimentary group fitness classes offered by the resort. These include mat Pilates, high-intensity interval training, and guided running sessions, allowing guests to combine movement with mindfulness.
The Global Wellness Day program at JW Marriott Maldives is aligned with the brand’s philosophy of Be Mindful and Present. The event offers a space for guests to step away from their routines and focus on purposeful living in a naturally beautiful setting.
Wellness is central to the guest experience at the resort and is part of its approach to hospitality. Every part of the program is designed to support personal wellbeing through nature, mindfulness, and self-care.
For those who want to extend their wellness experience, the resort offers the Stay in the Moment package. This includes daily breakfast, a three-course dinner at the all-day dining restaurant Aailaa, a signature 80-minute aromatherapy treatment at Spa by JW, private yoga sessions, wellness consultations, and the JW Garden to Glass cocktail ritual. A minimum four-night stay is required to enjoy this package.
JW Marriott Maldives Resort and Spa features 60 private villas on the beach and overwater, each with its own pool and expansive ocean views. The resort also offers a variety of dining experiences, spa rituals, and family-friendly activities. Every guest is supported by a dedicated Thakuru, or butler, who ensures every detail of the stay is personalized.
With its focus on wellness, nature, and presence, the resort’s Global Wellness Day celebration invites travelers to slow down and reconnect in a setting that encourages rest, reflection, and renewal.
